How do cavities appear and how fast do they expand?

Dental caries appear when the dental enamel and dentine suffer surface and depth destructions that cannot pass unnoticed by the patient or the dentist. From the moment the first microscopic lesions appear, until the patient observes the cavities may pass 2-4 years, depending of the quality of the dental structures.

How should I present myself at the treatment?

If the patient comes in an early phase, then a painful and costly treatment is avoided. If the decayed tooth is in an advanced phase of degradation, then the dentist imposes an endodontic treatment with channel closing and only afterwards the permanent restoration of the tooth’s crown.

A problem, once shown, cannot solve itself, only with anti inflammatory drugs. On the contrary, if untreated, it evolves with serious consequences. The later the intervention, the more costly and difficult will the treatment be. The conclusion is simple: health does not wait!

Filling or inlay- which one is better?

The materials we use are of the last generation, photopolymerizable composites with diverse consistence and shades, with dental caries prevention proprieties, compomers, glass ionomers, everything necessary for an aesthetic and durable closing, in a single treatment session.

In very big cavities, with serious sub-gingival destruction is indicated to apply ceramic incrustation made after a print sent to the dental technicalities laboratory. It is cemented on the existent structures. It’s the most aesthetic and durable choice, but is more expensive and requires two treatment sessions.
